Privacy Policy – “Crime Free Himachal” Mobile App
National Informatics Centre, Himachal Pradesh has developed the “Crime Free Himachal” Mobile App for Himachal Pradesh Police. The Crime Free Himachal Mobile app provides facility to citizens to report any kind of Crime to the Himachal Pradesh Police. For reporting Crime, in addition to details of Crime the user needs to select the District of crime occurring location. User may also provide his name and mobile number. Once the complaint is submitted, it will be forwarded to Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) at Police Head Quarter (PHQ) Shimla on email. ERSS centre will further forward this message to concerned SP/SHO of District for further necessary action. The app is available on Play Store free of cost.
Permission used by this App:
The app allows user to Lodge complaint against any crime encountered. The application captures Name and Mobile number of the user which are optional.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
The app captures Name (optional), Mobile Number (optional) and location of the user as well as details related to reported crime. The Department will retain User provided data for a reasonable time. This information is never made available in public domain and is used by HP Police only.
Misuse by Non Targeted Users
Mobile App is meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the mobile device.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to include or deleted any content as per latest requirements. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
