Privacy Policy – “Shakti Button (शक्ति बटन) ” Mobile Application

National Informatics Centre, Himachal Pradesh has developed the “Shakti Button (शक्ति बटन)” mobile app for the HP Police, Government of Himachal Pradesh. This app is meant to help the citizen (women in particular) who are in distress and need help while in Himachal Pradesh. The app provides mechanism to set up to three emergency contacts to the app user from the device's contact list. Whenever in distress the user can shake the phone, throw it or can also use the RED SHAKTI Button available on the main screen to send alert. The app also provides helpline numbers set up by the state/central government to help the citizen. The app is available in both English and Hindi.

Permission used by this App:

• Internet:  The app uses the internet connection of the user's device to fetch the data.
• Contacts: This permission is used to select the contacts from the device, to send the alert in case of emergency.
• SMS: This permission is used to send the emergency SMS from the user device.
• Location: This permission is used to capture the GPS coordinates of the device, to capture & track the location of user from where the alert has been sent.
• Camera & Audio/Video: The app uses device camera to capture the audio and video.

 

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

The app does not capture any user information. The local app settings can be changed or removed by the user as per requirement. So as no data is captured by the app so do not need any Data Retention or Management Policy.

 

Misuse by Non-Targeted Users

Mobile App is meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the mobile device.

 

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to include or deleted any content as per latest requirements. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
