Privacy Policy for HPPSC Attendance

National Informatics Centre (NIC) Himachal Pradesh, has developed the “HPPSC Attendance” mobile application for the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC), Governemnt of Himachal Pradesh. The application is intended for use by exam invigilators to mark candidate attendance during examinations.

Invigilators can login into the app using their registered mobile number and OTP authentication.

On successfull authentication, Candidate data is downloaded to the device, and attendance can be marked offline. The attendance data is securely synchronized with the server once internet connectivity becomes available.

Information Collection and Use

The application collects limited information necessary for authentication, attendance marking, and secure synchronization of examination data.

Permissions Used by the Application

The application requires the following permissions for proper functioning:

• INTERNET
  Required to sync attendance data with secure servers and retrieve examination-related information.
• ACCESS NETWORK STATE
  Used to detect network connectivity status to determine when data synchronization can occur.
• LOCATION
  Used to capture the approximate or precise location of the examination center for verification and monitoring purposes.
• CAMERA
  Required for capturing candidate photograph or scanning QR codes, provided on the admit card of the candidate, for marking attandance.
• WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE
  Used for temporarily storing downloaded examination data or logs on the device.
• RECEIVE BOOT COMPLETED
  Allows the application to resume essential background services after device restart, if required.
• WAKE LOCK
  Ensures the device remains active while critical attendance synchronization processes are running.
• FOREGROUND SERVICE
  Allows secure background data synchronization .

The data collected is transmitted securely to authorized servers.
